Notice to BNAC Members:
Call for nominations for officers and membership of the BNAC Executive Committee
Number of positions available for election: Officers 3 (Three), Members 4 (Four)
Date: Wednesday 29 July 2026
This notice is a call for nominations for the election of new officers and members of the Executive Committee for a period of 4 (four) years. The positions available for nominations are as follows:

The eligibility and procedure for nomination are as follows:
- To stand for election you must be a BNAC member of at least a year’s standing (clause 7, Rules of Elections), i.e. since at least 2025 (and your membership dues for 2026 must be already paid);

To stand for election for the position of Chairperson and General Secretary, you must be an Ordinary Member, whereas for all other positions including the Treasurer, both Ordinary and Associate Members can stand (clause 10 and 12, Constitution);
- The submission of your nomination must include the names of a proposer and a seconder, both of whom must be BNAC members.
Any member may propose and second only 1 (one) candidate for each Officer Position and up to 4 (Four) candidates for the membership of the Executive Committee, but they will not be able to both propose and second a candidate. Proposer or seconder must take consent of the person being proposed or seconded and provide their email contact for verification by the election officer.

If we have 1 (one) or no nomination for each of the officer position, and 4 (Four) or fewer nominations for the members positions, there will not be any voting. If we have more than one nomination for each of the officer position and more than 4 (Four) nominations for the member positions, the list of candidates will be emailed to all valid members for online voting along with a guide to the voting procedure.
Only members as of 28 July 2026 will be able to vote. (Any questions on membership should be directed to Dr Sushma Basnet basnetsushma77@gmail.com.)

Please note that for the purposes of the election, members’ names and email contacts may be shared, upon request, with all those who are eligible to stand for election, so that they are in a position to contact others in order to request them to be a proposer or seconder.
If there is a vote, a list of all voters will be circulated to all members along with the details of the candidates.
